Philatron Wire and Cable Creates USA Jobs to Manufacture Electrical Power Cables for the Country’s Largest Wind Power Project

Thursday, Sep 23, 2010

AWEC, Alta Wind Energy Center, a development project of Terra Gen in New York broke ground on the Alta-Oak Creek Mojave Project, August 2, 2010 in Mojave, Ca. Once the project is completed it will consist of 320 turbines and be capable of generating up to 800 MW of clean energy; Philatron Wire and Cable produced special shielded electrical power cable for this project. Shipping arrangements and warehousing issues were negotiated easily; the project is a short two hour drive from Philatron corporate headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, Ca.

Philatron involvement is the positive result area advocates of the AWEC were eager for. The project provided a USA wire and cable manufacturer the opportunity to create American jobs to the locally unemployed with the assistance of the EDD, Employee Development Department of California. Phil M. Ramos, Jr. quotes, “This is what American business is all about; offering the American people jobs to initiate the development of clean energy giving the American people and American manufacturers an opportunity to be pioneers in the renewable energy industry.”

Many American manufacturers and distributors of electrical wire and cable outsource their wire and cable from far away offshore countries for the cheapest prices. Philatron refuses to import what it can make, because Philatron is dedicated to creating jobs for people in the USA. Rather than import for cheaper prices Philatron relies on its keen engineering ability to manufacturer high quality cables at competitive prices.

Refining the company business statement to, “Custom Cable IS OUR business”,
Philatron leads the industry standard in custom cable design. OEM business leads Philatron’s current valued customer base, along with government agencies and military branches. Electrical distribution companies depend on Philatron to produce sophisticated cable designs for complicated applications. Philatron remains committed to developing markets and is heavily involved in prototype projects with engineering firms, dedicating significant resources with their research and development associates. A notable catalog includes an extensive product line: mining cables, submersible pump cable, coiled cords (retractile cable), electric vehicle, photovoltaic, aerospace, medical, heavy duty trucking and more. CEO and founder of Philatron Wire and Cable, Phillip M. Ramos, Jr. states, “Our customers are our boss, and we always strive for 100% satisfaction. This way we can always stay employed, with pride! Let’s put America to work!” Quality and delivery, along with experience is how the company continues to move forward.
